Oscar Baldini is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Revolt Comics. The character first appeared in the form of a cameo in The Art of Revolt #1 in May of 2014 and was created by Alice V. Falto. As a practicing Catholic, Falto explored the historical aspect of the church and found the chronological accounts of the Poor Soldiers of Christ (a.k.a. Templar Knights) fascinating. She decided to create a team of modern super heroes to battle the forces of evil. She turned to long-time collaborator and friend David G. Hernandez to bring her team to life. The first character that Hernandez tackled was Oscar Baldini.
Baldini is an Italian-American, master swordsman. He is the tactical leader of a Roman Catholic sponsored team called The Neo Templars.
Publication history
Oscar Baldini appeared in a two-page spread out poster in “The Art of Revolt" #1(May 2014). The poster was drawn, inked and colored by Falto. His official first appearance was in the pages of “Revolt Comics Presents" #1” in a story called “chosen." In his debut, Baldini is seen battling a 12 feet golem by himself, while his team fight off a herd of the living dead.
Fictional character biography
Oscar Baldini was born in the countryside of Florence Italy in a small villa. He became an orphan at an early age by a tragedy that befell his family. Baldini was rescued by a local chaplain who introduced him to God and the Church. After a time living among the priests, Oscar was sent to a militarized catholic boarding school for boys. In that school not only, Baldini learned discipline and leadership skills, but he also became a very pious Catholic. On his way to seminary school, however, he received the call.
Today, Oscar has found a new way to serve God by battling the forces of evil alongside his team.
Oscar is a person of a calm temperament. In times of stress, he always maintains his composure and position as a leader without losing control.
Powers and abilities
Oscar Baldini is a normal human being at the peak of athletic prowess, although some claim that his strength and speed are somewhat supernatural.
